Heat storage system, CHP plant Kutná Hora, Czechia
Owner's Engineer Design and Studies Installation and Supply Diagnostics

We developed the conceptual design and drew up the feasibility study on integrating the heat storage system into CHP energy center. The energy center consists of one CHP plant and three hot water boilers and supplies heat into the district heating system of the town Kutná Hora and several industrial companies.

BFS Industry activities:

  • Optimization of the storage capacity and charging/discharging power
  • Elaboration of conceptual design
  • Calculation of expected revenues, CAPEX and OPEX

Execution date: 08/2015 - 09/2015

Technical specifications of the storage system:

  • Water volume: 5850 m3
  • Charging power: 15 MWt
  • Discharging power: 15 MWt
  • Capacity: 280 MWh
  • Atmospheric type
